Bachmann Software Demonstrating New Wireless Printing Solutions at PalmSource 2000

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - December 13, 2000 - Bachmann Software & Services is demonstrating its latest array of wireless printing products this week at PalmSource™, the annual conference and trade show for Palm OS® platform developers and solution providers.

The company's exhibit at the Santa Clara Convention Center includes a printing kiosk, where visitors are viewing demonstrations of four new Bachmann Software products: PrintBoy 2.2, PrintBoy Documents, PrintBoy Deluxe and Bachmann PrintManager 3.2.

Collectively, the new releases are the most comprehensive wireless printing solutions now available for the Palm handheld, according to Glenn Bachmann, company president and CEO.

Throughout the four-day event, Bachmann Software is demonstrating its printing software directly from the Palm handheld using IRDA adapters and serial cables to a variety of printers. In addition, Bachmann is also demonstrating wireless printing from a Handspring Visor using Bluetooth™ technology. Visitors to the Bachmann booth are downloading demonstration versions of the software and printing their daily calendars, notes from the show, contact information from vendors, and product data sheets.

Bachmann Software also demonstrated PrintBoy via BluetoothÔ during last month's COMDEX/Fall 2000 in Las Vegas.

"If you look at how people use their laptops and PCs, printing continues to remain a necessary function for computer users, particularly those who have devices with screens as small as those on a handheld," Bachmann said. "People still prefer to read full-sized documents and share hard copies. Therefore, we are continuing to seek alliances with hardware and software partners who recognize the importance of wireless printing. We want to work with them to develop other functions that add to the versatility of the Palm OS platform."
